Greetings from Consul General YAMAJI Hideki
2022/5/9

Thank you for visiting the Consulate-General of Japan in Cebu homepage. My name is YAMAJI Hideki, and I assumed the position as Consul General of Japan in Cebu on April 1st, 2022.
My past work has centered on international security and information analysis at the Headquarters, and my overseas posts at our Embassy were Australia, Thailand, the United States of America, Oman and Zambia. This is my first posting in the Philippines, so I would like to meet as many people in Cebu and Visayas and learn from them.
Visayas is a stable region in the Philippines, which has been recording high economic growth rates, and has attracted a lot of investments from Japan. As a result, currently 266 Japanese companies are operating, and about 3,300 Japanese are staying here. Cebu also has a world-class resort, as well as a popular destination for Japanese students who want to learn English language. With the COVID-19 pandemic subsiding, the number of tourists and students from Japan is more likely to increase. I believe that it is my important duty to maintain and broaden these precious ties.
Our highest priority is the health and safety of Japanese nationals and residents, and the Consulate will provide its utmost effort. Please feel free to reach out to the Consulate.
I will be grateful for your continued cooperation.
