Consul General, Hideki YAMAJI, prayed and offered flowers to Capt. Isao Yamazoe Shrine located in Dulag and Madonna of Japan in Tacloban City in Leyte Province on December 14, 2022.
Capt. Isao Yamazoe Shrine was built by local people to commemorate the legacy of Captain Isao Yamazoe as a hero, who called “Captain Yamasoy”. He maintained a fair and friendly attitude and gained the trust of the citizens by the local people during WWII.
The monument of the Maria Kannon or Madonna of Japan was erected in memory of the brave soldiers who died during the WWII. The Madonna of Japan was built as a symbol of friendship between the Japanese and Filipinos in Tacloban City in the Province of Leyte.
