Consul General Hideaki MATSUO and his wife paid tribute at the memorial service organized by the Japanese Association in Cebu to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the end of World War II on August 15, 2024.
During the service, Consul General read out a memorial message to all war dead at the "Cebu Kannon" (Goddess of Mercy) monument in the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel.
They also offered prayers and flowers to the 14th Division Southern Army Hospital Memorial Monument at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center and the Filipino-Japanese Memorial Monument in Cebu City's Plaza Independencia.
