Dr. Ballescas received “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” (June 27, 2025)

On June 27, “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” was conferred upon Dr. Maria Rosario Piquero Ballescas at the Consulate-General of Japan in Cebu.
Dr. Ballescas served as the President of the Philippines Association of Japanese Government Scholars (Philajames) Cebu Chapter for many years. Since the start of Philajames Cebu Chapter, she paved the way for promotion of Japanese government scholarships in Cebu and spearheaded activities for deepening friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and the Philippines.
Dr. Ballescas is an alumna of University of Tsukuba in Japan under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program.
