The Department of Education, Region VII in partnership with SEEDS Asia (Japanese NGO) conducted a two-day event on the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Olympics at DepEd Ecotech Center in Cebu(July 25-26, 2025).
On July 26, Consul General Hideaki MATSUO attended the DRRM Olympics led by Regional Director Dr. Salustiano T. Jimenez and other officials of the Department of Education Regional Office VII.
Both elementary and secondary schools in Cebu and Bohol participated in the Olympics, and they learned how to respond emergencies/disasters through various games and contests related to disaster risk reduction. Consul General commended the events, which could enhance students’ knowledges and equip them for the future possible disasters.
