On August 12, 2025, Consul General Hideaki MATSUO paid a courtesy call on the new Governor of Cebu, Honorable Pamela BARICUATRO, at the Cebu Provincial Capitol.
During the meeting, Governor Baricuatro assured the Consul General of her commitment to safeguarding the welfare of Japanese residents and tourists as well as companies in Cebu. The meeting also briefly covered the progress of the long-time partnership between Japan and Cebu in various sectors, including development of Cebu and investments from Japan.
