Japan’s Foreign Minister’s Commendations for Dr. Minda Jamilosa Formacion, the Former President, PHILAJAMES-Visayas (October 23, 2025)

On October 23, Dr. Minda Jamilosa Formacion received the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation Certificate for Fiscal Year 2025 through Consul General Hideaki MATSUO in Iloilo City.
Dr. Minda J. Formacion studied at Nagoya University as Monbusho (Japan's Ministry of Education or MEXT) scholar and pioneered in setting up the Philippines Association of Japanese Government Scholars (PHILAJAMES) at Iloilo city in 1996 to increase the number of Japanese Government scholars from Visayas.
She served in the PHILAJAMES-Visayas as the Board of Directors and the President for twenty-nine years and contributed to fostering friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and the Western Visayas through the above-mentioned activity.
