On January 2nd, 2026, newly assigned Consul-General Yudai UENO offered flowers to the memorial statue of “Cebu Kannon”(Goddess of Mercy) at Marco Polo Plaza, Memorial Monument of 14th Division Southern Army Hospital located at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center and the Filipino-Japanese Memorial Monument at the Plaza Independencia in Cebu City respectively.
Consul-General UENO consoled the souls of all who lost their lives during the war. He also renewed our shared commitment to peace, security and prosperity in this region, enhancing the cooperation between the Philippines and Japan.
