　On January 5, 2026, newly assigned Consul General Yudai UENO paid a courtesy call on Honorable Hon. Nestor Dionson Archival, Mayor of Cebu City. They exchanged views on development and ways to further strengthen cooperation between Cebu City and Japan. Consul-General UENO expressed his high hopes for further cooperation on waste management, mentioning ”No Segregation, No Collection” initiated by Mayor Archival.
