 The Consulate General of Japan in Cebu is currently seeking to hire one (1) local employee in the Consular Division.
 
  1. Position
    General Administrative staff (Consular and Security Affairs)
 
  1. Number of Position
     One (1) staff member (Employment to commence around March-April 2026)
 
  1. Job descriptions
      - Consular Services (Passport, Certificate, Visa, Family Registration, Overseas Election, Assistance to Japanese Nationals, etc.)
      - Customer Service (window, telephone, email)
 
  1. Work Location
      Consulate General of Japan in Cebu (8th Floor, 2Quad Building, Cardinal Rosales Avenue, Cebu Business Park, Cebu City, Philippines)
 
  1. Working Days and Hours
      - Monday to Friday (excluding official holidays designated by the Consulate)
      - 8:30 to 17:15 (1 hour lunch break 12:30 to 13:30)
 
  1. Compensation and Benefits
      - Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications
      - 15 days of paid annual leave and 7 days of sick leave per year (Not applicable during the probationary period)
 
  1. Qualifications
     - Japanese Language Proficiency  Level N1 or N2
     - Ability to work in English and Cebuano/Tagalog
       University graduate or equivalent educational background
     - Non-Filipino nationals must possess permanent residency in the Philippines with status to work
     - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office Applications

     - Total size of email must not exceed 10MB. If necessary, divide the attachments into multiple emails.
     - Applications by post mail will not be accepted
 
  1. )Resume / Curriculum Vitae (in Japanese or English)
     - Must include a recent photo
     - Please describe work history and reason for application in as much details as possible
     - Indicate contact numbers and email address you can be reached during the day

  1. )Copy of Identification
     - Copy of valid passport or other official identification that indicates nationality
     - For non-Filipino nationals, document indicating Philippine residence status and work authorization
  1. )Graduation Certificate (University/Graduate School)
     - No translation required if written in Japanese/English
     - If written in another language, a Japanese translation must be attached
  1. )Language Proficiency Certificate (if applicable)
      ※Original documents for items (2) – (4) must be presented at a later date
 
  1. Selection Process
     - Application will first undergo document screening
     - Only selected candidates who passes the initial screening will be contacted for interview
     - For applicants whose native language is not Japanese, a Japanese proficiency test may be required due to the advance level of Japanese needed for this position
     - Please note that applicants may be disqualifies if repeated contact attempts by the Consulate is not answered or returned
