 Today, a meaningful step in strengthening academic and cultural ties was marked through the 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 University of the Philippines Cebu.
 Consul-General Yudai UENO formally handed over a collection of 175 books donated by the READ JAPAN PROJECT 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐤𝐲𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐭. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐏. 𝐓𝐮𝐝𝐭𝐮𝐝, 𝐔𝐏 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬, 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐥 𝐆. 𝐀𝐥𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐪𝐮𝐞, 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫-𝐈𝐧-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞, aimed at enriching the university’s resources on Japan and deepening understanding of Japanese society, culture, politics, economics, and international relations.
 The donated publications will serve as valuable learning materials for students, faculty, and researchers of the university, supporting academic exploration and encouraging greater interest in Japan-related studies. Through initiatives like the Read Japan Project, institutions around the world are given access to important scholarly works that help promote cross-cultural understanding and intellectual exchange.
 As the Philippines and Japan commemorate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, it is a special opportunity to celebrate the enduring friendship and close cooperation that continue to bring our two nations together.
