Recruitment of Local Staff at the Consulate General of Japan in Cebu (Consular and Security Section)

The Consulate General of Japan in Cebu is currently seeking to hire one (1) local employee in the Consular-Security Section.
 
  1.  Job Details
All aspects of consular services (Passport, Certificate, Visa, Family Registration and Nationality matters, Overseas Residence Registration, Overseas Election, Assistance to Japanese Nationals, etc.) at the counter window, over the phone and through emails.
 
  1.  Number of Position
One (1) staff (Employment to commence around July 2026)
 
  1.  Work Location
Consulate General of Japan in Cebu (8th Floor, 2Quad Building, Cardinal Rosales Avenue, Cebu Business Park, Cebu City)
 
  1.  Working Days
Monday to Friday (excluding holidays designated by the Consulate)
*Work on holidays may be required depending on operational needs.
 
  1.  Working Hours
8:30 to 17:15 (lunch break 12:30 to 13:30)
*Overtime work may be required.
 
  1.  Annual Leaves
15 days of paid annual leave and 7days of sick leave per year
*Not applicable during the 6 months probationary period.
 
  1.  Salary
Monthly Salary: Php 40,000 to Php 70,000
*The above range is an estimate and includes all allowance, except overtime pay. The final salary will be determined based on the applicant’s qualifications, skills and experience.
 
  1.  Qualifications
- JLPT N1 or N2 level (for non-Japanese nationals)
-Ability to communicate and perform duties in English and Cebuano or Tagalog.
-Possess University degree or equivalent education background.
-Prior experience in general administrative work for at least one year is preferred.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other similar software.
-Applicants who are not Philippine national should hold permanent resident status and valid authorization to work in the Philippines.
-Applicants should be willing to work on weekends or during late hours in the event of emergencies or urgent situations.

*A copy of valid passport or other government issued ID indicating the nationality
 
  1. For Non-Philippine Nationals, a copy of document verifying permanent visa status and authorization to work in the Philippines
 
  1. Graduation Certificate (University/Graduate School)
-Certificates issued in languages other than Japanese or English must be accompanied by a Japanese translation
 
  1. Japanese Proficiency Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Certificate

  1.  Selection Process
Document screening will constitute the initial selection process. Only candidates who successfully pass the screening will be notified and invited for interview.
For applicants whose native language is not Japanese may be required to undergo a Japanese language assessment, as a high level of Japanese proficiency is necessary due to the advance level of Japanese needed for the position.
Applicants who pass the initial screening stage will be required to submit an NBI Clearance.
Please note that applicants may be disqualified if they cannot be reached or do not respond after repeated contact attempts by the Consulate. Submitted documents will not be returned, regardless of the outcome of the application.
