Dr. Formacion received “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” (July 16, 2026)

On July 16, Consul-General of Japan in Cebu UENO Yudai conferred “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” upon Dr. Minda Jamilosa Formacion, a former president of the Philippine Association of Japanese Government Scholars (Philajames), Visayas chapter, in a conferment ceremony held in Iloilo City.
After Dr. Formacion studied at Nagoya University as a Japanese government (MEXT) scholar, she actively served as the president and in other capacities of the Philajames- Visayas for many years.
In addition, Dr. Formacion played a vital role in establishing the organization to promote the Japanese government scholarship program in the region. She significantly contributed to organize the former Japanese government scholars in the region and promote their activities. This decoration is in recognition of her remarkable contributions over many years to promoting mutual understanding and deepening friendship and goodwill between Japan and the Philippines.
