On September 30, Consul-General Yudai UENO paid a courtesy call on Governor Manuel “Chaco”Sagarbarria of the Negros Oriental and Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel“Chiquiting” Sagarbarria.
Their meetings provided a wonderful opportunity not only to strengthen friendship and cooperation, but also to learn more about Dumaguete City and Negros Oriental and gain a deeper understanding of the local community, its culture, and its aspirations for the future.
Consul General witnessed the warmth and kindness of the people of Dumaguete City known as the “City of Gentle People” and beautiful natural attractions, rich culture and a vibrant local community in Negros Oriental.
As we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Japan, through this visit, Consul-General Ueno hopes to build closer connections with the people of Dumaguete, Negros Oriental and Japan and explore more opportunities for cooperation and meaningful exchanges that can benefit local communities.
